white (almost) christmas

it's the closest we've been to a white christmas in years. the first blizzard of the season is here and she's gnarly. we've got about 15 inches in the past 7 hours and there are no signs of it stopping anytime soon. it's supposed to go into tomorrow afternoon. cray-cray!!

will they ever...

...make a movie that even kind of lives up to the book? seriously, the book is ALWAYS better, this we all know, it's just so disappointing. this comes after watching eat pray love last night. the book damn near changed my life, the movie...not so much. liz gilbert is a phenomenal writer and you don't get to feel any of her uncanny rhetoric channeled through julia roberts, (though i do adore her). so much was neglected or missed entirely, it just makes me a little sad.

ps- thinking of you, cori, the whole time i was watching =) xoox

i held the world in my arms that night

today marked 1 year ago that i quit my job and left for europe. i'm having mixed feelings and i'm quite anxious. i can't believe a year has gone by since beginning this little journey. one part of me feels i really have nothing to show for it. another part of me just feels very lucky. i may not have gotten the bigger, better job i was almost certain i'd have by now, but this emotional roller coaster of a year has provided me some much needed time with myself that i'm grateful to have had.

rather than turn this post into yet another shot of self-actualization, i'd much rather just reminisce... about the good times i had and the good people i met. some favorites...
